With age I've learned that I dislike most people, don't have much time or energy to invest in too many new friends, but deeply love the people that have been a staple in my life. Eden and I met in middle school. I have memories of seeing her in the hallway, but we didn't become friends until a good friend of mine and her started seeing each other six or more years ago after I had left Salt Lake and moved to Portland. It's easy to say that she's one of the best people I know. It's difficult to come by a person who is both interesting, has depth, is the most real kind of kind, and sane in the best way. A week or so ago her and Greydon did one of their biannual visits to Portland, and I had this secret plan to bring her in the studio to photograph. I've been wanting to photograph this beautiful lady for years now. And not living in the same city or state, I don't get much chances. And so, on a hot summer morning, we made a trip to the flower market at 6am (not something everyone seems like they'd enjoy doing on their vacation), and we played with some flowers, and I took some photographs of her.
